Many other RV'ers we follow on social media highly recommended Harvest Host. While we purchased a few other memberships at the beginning of our journey we weren't convinced it would be a good option for us. We started off booking one week stays at each campsite and didn't think we'd be up for long distances between locations. However, upon reaching Louisiana and looking to book our next stop, we didn't find a place we really wanted to stop at before reaching the Austin area. The trip from Livingston to the RV park in Georgetown, TX would be 7 hours, so breaking it up with a one night stop seemed like the right solution. Knowing this would probably not be the last time we would have to do this, we went ahead and signed up with Harvest Host.

Camping at a winery.

We found Frascone Winery and Bistro in Anahuac, TX, and booked for the night. We got there close to sunset, just in time to head into the host's little bistro to try their wine and order some appetizers (Paul tried their alligator spring rolls... but was underwhelmed by it). This winery overlooks the Trinity Bay which makes for nice views but the mosquitoes (which were enormous) were already out by then and kept us indoors. Other RVers had arrived before us but there was still room for us on the lawn and even had the option for hook ups. Overall, Harvest Host served it's purpose. Hopefully we'll have better luck next time with booking a location we can enjoy a bit more than this one.
